Government activity
The UK government is supporting the research, development, demonstration, and deployment of connected and autonomous vehicles, with recent support activity including:
- Publication of the Department for Transport’s (DfR) code of practice for testing driverless cars.
- Launch of the Department for Business, innovation and Skills’ (BIS) first £20 million feasibility studies and collaborative research and development competition.
- Establishment of a new joint policy unit – the Centre for Connected and Autonomous Vehicles (CCAV)
